As a childhood leukemia survivor, my journey through health challenges has shaped who I am today. These experiences have instilled in me resilience, a commitment to strong values, and a focus on solutions that empower individuals and strengthen communities. They’ve also given me a deep understanding of healthcare policies and the critical role nonprofits play in helping individuals and families overcome adversity.
In my career, I’ve worked on transformative healthcare policies designed to improve access to care and education while fostering efficiency and accountability. I supported policy development for Covered California, ensuring over 500,000 Medi-Cal members had access to comprehensive healthcare, including those from underserved populations such as veterans and individuals with disabilities. These efforts reflect my dedication to developing impactful, sustainable solutions that meet the needs of diverse communities.
At the Kuhn Laboratory at USC and the Michelson Center for Convergent Science, I contributed to the Moonshot Cancer Initiative, which was part of the larger H.R. 34, the 21st Century Cures Act. This work focused on advancing cancer research through innovative data illustration and collaborative efforts to address disparities in healthcare access. My role included integrating digital mapping infrastructure into electronic health record systems and implementing equitable clinical trial enrollment strategies. These efforts were recognized with the Federal RareVoice Patient Thought Leader Award for championing innovative, patient-centered solutions.
As the Co-Founder of a crowdsourcing patient technology initiative using an algorithm developed at Standford and the MIT Media Lab, I worked on expanding access to care through technology-driven solutions. This included supporting policy advocacy for the STARS Act, which improved telehealth services for rural and underserved communities. By leveraging technology, the STARS Act enhanced healthcare access for high-risk populations while maintaining fiscal responsibility and efficient implementation.
Today, as a trustee on the board of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) for the Southern California, Hawaii region, I continue to advocate for meaningful healthcare policies that address patient needs and create lasting impact. I believe in fostering partnerships and practical solutions to ensure every individual has access to the tools and resources they need to thrive.

Having walked past the hangars every single day for close to a decade, they hold a deep nostalgic value for me. They are a testament to our past and an inspiration for our future. I believe that maintaining these historic landmarks is essential, and I am dedicated to making fiscally responsible decisions that honor our history and benefit our community.
