Citizens Academy
Lana is deeply committed to enhancing the connection between the community and local law enforcement. Her support for the Citizens Academy reflects this dedication, and she is honored to be accepted into the 49th class. This fourteen-week program, coordinated by the City Operations Division, is held twice a year on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. It provides an invaluable opportunity for residents and those who work in the City to gain a thorough understanding of police work and foster better community relations.
The Citizens Academy offers participants insights into various aspects of law enforcement, including communications and dispatch, crime scene investigation, gangs and graffiti, investigations, the K-9 program, special weapons and tactics (SWAT), traffic units, and the use of force. This immersive curriculum helps individuals appreciate the complexities of policing and enables officers and staff to better engage with the community.

As a parent, Lana strives to instill in her children the importance of building strong, positive relationships with their local police officers. Witnessing their excitement and admiration for the community's law enforcement highlights the value of these connections to her.
OCFA
An active advocate for community safety and preparedness, Lana collaborates with the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) to strengthen local engagement through the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program. She emphasizes the value of equipping residents with essential emergency skills and supports FEMA’s structured approach to preparedness training.
Through her work empowering young girls, Lana encourages greater awareness and participation in emergency preparedness and leadership opportunities by helping to inspire future interest in firefighting and public safety careers.
