The People Who Inspire Me Every Day

Family First

Meet my husband, Mark, and our twin boys, Joey and Jay! Our family is grounded in love, laughter, and a shared commitment to enriching our community. We believe in giving back, supporting the arts, and creating spaces where all children can explore, learn, and dream without limits.

The arts hold a special place in our hearts. As founding members of the City Lights Giving Circle at Pretend City, we are dedicated to nurturing creativity in children through theatrical and imaginative play. Our twins have brought stories to life as Baby Ace on General Hospital, an experience that has strengthened their confidence and deepened their love for the performing arts. We are proud to support initiatives that make the arts accessible to every child.

My English Bulldogs

Gustavos, Mama & Cupcake

If you know me, you know this already — Bulldogs are not just a hobby in our house. They are family.

Gustavo, Cupcake, and Mama each bring their own personality, strength, and spirit to our home. They are joyful, loyal, expressive, and endlessly resilient — true examples of the English Bulldog heart.

They are also the reason I care so deeply about responsible ownership, health education, and ethical stewardship. Loving them has reinforced what I believe at every level: informed care leads to better outcomes.

What If Loving a Dog Was Also a Public Health Issue?

What if one of the most overlooked education gaps is happening right in our homes — on four legs, snoring on the couch?

That question is what led me to found Short Snout Support 501(c)3.

Short Snout Support is an educational nonprofit dedicated to strengthening families through responsible companion animal literacy. While our programming centers around brachycephalic (short-snouted) breeds like English and French Bulldogs, our mission is about equipping people with knowledge.

Because here’s the reality:

When families lack accurate information about health risks, genetics, ethical breeding practices, and financial preparedness, the consequences are human.

  • Families face unexpected $8,000–$15,000 surgeries.
  • Children witness preventable suffering.
  • Rescue systems become overwhelmed.
  • Communities absorb the emotional and financial strain.

This isn’t just a pet issue.

It’s a literacy issue.

Education First. Celebration Second.

Short Snout Support provides:

  • Evidence-based health education for families
  • Ethical breeding literacy and standards awareness
  • Preventative care guidance
  • Community-based outreach programming
  • Youth engagement and responsible ownership education

We approach companion animal stewardship the way public health approaches prevention: upstream, informed, and systems-aware.

And sometimes, the best way to teach is to make learning joyful.
